কলকাতা: ইন্ডিয়ান মেডিকেল অ্যাসোসিয়েশন কলকাতার আরজি কর হাসপাতালের প্রাক্তন অধ্যক্ষ ডক্টর সন্দীপ ঘোষের সদস্যপদ স্থগিত করেছে, যেখানে এই মাসে একজন ডাক্তারকে ধর্ষণ ও খুন করা হয়েছিল। ডাঃ ঘোষ – যাকে সোমবার মিথ্যা-সনাক্তকারী পরীক্ষা করা হয়েছিল – মহিলার দেহ পাওয়া গেলে পুলিশ অভিযোগ দায়ের না করা সহ মামলায় অবহেলার অভিযোগ আনা হয়েছে৷ ডাক্তার হত্যার সাথে জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগে তার বিরুদ্ধে কোনো অভিযোগ নেই, তবে জামিন অযোগ্য দুর্নীতির অভিযোগ রয়েছে। যাইহোক, দাবি করা হয়েছে যে আরজি কর হাসপাতালের দুর্নীতি – একজন প্রাক্তন কর্মচারী ডাঃ ঘোষের বিরুদ্ধে মৃতদেহ এবং বায়োমেডিকাল বর্জ্য পাচারের অভিযোগ করেছেন – এই হত্যার সাথে জড়িত।

আইএমএ বাংলার ডাক্তারদের করা অভিযোগেরও উল্লেখ করেছে – যে ডাঃ ঘোষ তার কর্মের দ্বারা পেশাটিকে অসম্মানিত করেছেন – এবং বলেছে যে শৃঙ্খলা কমিটি তাকে বরখাস্ত করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে।
ডাক্তার ঘোষের মৃতদেহ পাওয়ার পর থেকেই বিতর্কের কেন্দ্রবিন্দুতে।
তিনি নৈতিক দায় স্বীকার করে কয়েকদিন পর পদত্যাগ করেন, কিন্তু কয়েক ঘণ্টার মধ্যেই বঙ্গ সরকার তাকে কলকাতা ন্যাশনাল মেডিকেল কলেজ ও হাসপাতালের প্রধান নিযুক্ত করে।
